Dive into Pulau Tenggol!

Where's the best place to go diving? It has to be Pulau Tenggol! Don't worry if you haven't heard of it, it just happens to be one of Malaysia's best-kept secrets.

I went snorkelling there last year and it was truly one the highlights of the year for me. It is the best snorkelling site that I've ever been to and because it was so good, it made me bitterly disappointed with the snorkelling in Phuket, Thailand on the Phi Phi Island Tour because it just paled in comparison.

Pulau Tenggol is a tropical island which is located on the South China Sea on Peninsular Malaysia's east coast. The best place to stay if you want to go diving there is at Tanjong Jara Resort. The YTL Hotels luxurious property offers diving and snorkelling excursions and with its 5 star service and Unmistakeably Malay essence, it makes the perfect complement.

There are 20 stunning dive sties which surround the main island of Pulau Tenggol meaning that overcrowding is never an issue and each of the sites offers an abundance of views of spectacular marine life and vibrant corals. Sea turtles, giant manta rays and even the largest fish in the world, the harmless Whale Shark.
Tanjong Jara Resort offers a dive package called Tenggol Diver's Escape which is well worth the money and for those looking to pick up some of their PADI licenses, the resort also offers the opportunity to do so.

If you're looking to take a diving and snorkelling holiday this year, I would fully recommend making this your destination. The only advice I would give is to remember to put sunscreen on the back of your legs as well as the front which was my mistake!
